The rules
Every day, a new challenge: 4 rounds, 4 images per round, a single odd one out to unmask each time, and 3 lives to get there.
The idea
Each round clearly states what you need to find:
- Find the AI-generated image: three images are real, only one was created by an artificial intelligence.
- Find the real image: three images were generated by AI, only one is real.
The four images in a round share the same theme: you are judging where the image comes from, not what it shows.
Lives
You start each challenge with 3 lives, for all the rounds.
- Right pick: the round is won, you move on to the next one.
- Wrong pick: you lose a life. That image is ruled out and you try the same round again with the ones left.
- No lives left: the game is over. You can still discover the answers to the remaining rounds.
Until you confirm, you can change your mind as often as you like: only the confirmation counts.
Difficulty
It rises as the game goes on: the first round is a warm-up, the last one is designed to trap the sharpest eyes. There is no timer: take the time to look.
Streak
Playing several days in a row grows your streak, whether you win or not. It resets to zero if you miss a day.
One challenge a day
The challenge is the same for everyone and changes every night at midnight, Paris time. You can pause your game and resume it later in the day, on the same browser. No sign-up required.
Keyboard
- 1 to 4: select an image.
- Enter: confirm, then move on to the next round.
- Arrows and Escape: move through the enlarged view and close it.
A few tips for spotting a generated image
- Hands, teeth, ears and jewellery: count, symmetry, joins.
- Text and logos in the background, often unreadable or approximate.
- Reflections, shadows and light sources that do not match.
- Textures that are too smooth, and backgrounds that melt into each other.
No clue is foolproof: generators improve fast, and a real photo can look odd too.
